Urubamba, called La Perla del Vilcanota, located in the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, 78 kilometers from Cusco and 4 kilometers from Yucay.
The traveler can access Urubamba from Cusco by private car, hiring a taxi or minivan.
The trip, departing from the city of Cusco, lasts about an hour and a half and is accessed by two routes. By the north via Chinchero at kilometer 28 to Urubamba at kilometer 57. Another option is to go to the Northeast, via Pisac at kilometer 32 to Calca at kilometer 50 and then arrive at Urubamba.
Urubamba is of an indescribable beauty, and to its landscape the two snow-capped mountains, Chicón and Pumahuanca are added.
Although Urubamba has been one of the main agricultural sites during the Inca empire, today it is the center of business investments that have built lodgings, category hotels, country restaurants, spas, healing centers and astronomical observatories.
Those who like organic food, Urubamba is the place par excellence in Peru. The restaurants prepare their dishes with fresh vegetables and fruits, recently harvested from the plantations and orchards they own in the Urubamba Valley.
The traveler will also find different options for adventure tourism: aminatas, cycling, boating, horseback riding, paragliding and hot air balloon flights.
