Manuel Chavez Ballon Museum
The Machu Picchu Site Museum, Manuel Chávez Ballón, exhibits samples of the Pre Inca and Inca archeology, from the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu.
The Site Museum dynamically offers us a cultural and historical tour of the various rooms where archaeological collections are exhibited, product of arduous research for several years within the archaeological Site of Machu Picchu.
During the tour the visitor will be able to know the different events that marked events of great importance in the sacred city.
The infographics, maps, panels, videos and the collection of ceramics, lithics, metals and other findings are exposed in eight sequences: Machupicchu the city among the fog – In the time machine – Propagating history – A day in the continuity of Machupicchu – Interlacing the Amazon and the Andes – Between Findings and evidences – Ways to feel Machupicchu – Ecology, flora and fauna of the Historic Sanctuary of Machupicchu.
After visiting the site museum of Machu Picchu, the visitor can visit the Botanical Garden, where native nature coexists. You will enjoy the song of the birds, the sound of the Urubamba River, the perfume of the vegetation and the colors of the most varied and beautiful flowers of the region.

Address: This Museum is located at kilometer 112 of the railway, a place called Puente Ruinas, in front of the old train station, at the foot of the Machupicchu Mountain, on the third Inca platform, which ends its stepped descent to the edge of the River Urubamba, 2,000 meters above sea level with a jungle eyebrow climate.
