Lares Valley Trek, at north of Cusco is one of the best tours for travelers wishing to experience the rich Sacred Valley of the Incas and know the andean peasant life in the amazing region as the Cordillera of Urubamba.

LARES - MACHU PICCHU TREK
The Lares Trek is one of the alternative trails to Machu Picchu. If you do not obtain the ticket for the traditional Inca trail or if you have already done it, this trekking is an excellent oportunity to enjoy beautifull landscapes, to know the original towns, see rustic constructions, and autochthonous animals as llamas and alpacas.

The journey begins in Cusco City where the traveler will take the bus to the district of Calca in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. There one can visit the traditional markets and the archeological site, later the trip continues to the Lares Valley, where the travelers will relax in Hot Springs (it is recommend to take a bathing suit in the backpack).
Along path the traveler will see snowies, lagoons and cascades. Also he/she will know the andean customs and the products made in the different towns.

Duration of the Lares - Machu Picchu Trek: 4 Days and 3 Nights.
Complexity: The Lares trekking difficulty is moderate compared to other Inca trail hikes, highest point reached will be 4.000 m.a.l.s. and the treks per day last about eight hours at a height of 3.000 m.a.s.l.
Location: The trek starts in Calca at 2.900 m.a.s.l. on the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We recomend enagage in the trek between the months of April and October because it is the dry season and the days are sunnier.
It is also possible to do this journey by bicycle, motorcycle and ATVs. It is receomended to contact the tour operator for the different tourist programs.
